What are the effects of birth control and what age should you take it?

I want to take it, but I do not know exactly what it does and what are the effects. What are the effects of birth control and what age should you take it?
well, first of all the obvious: you won't get pregnant if you take them everyday like your supposed to

also, it makes your period shorter and lighter with less cramps.

i started taking them when i was 14, but check with your doctor before you do

Birth control regulates your periods, some types even make the cramps hurt less. And, it is 99% effective at preventing pregnancies, but does not prevent STD's. If you smoke, you increase your risk for blood clots, but other than that, you probably don't have much to worry about as far as side effects. The next time you see your doctor, ask for it and they can prescribe it for you, or you can get it from Planned Parenthood.
Due to the fact that there are sooo many different kinds of birth control you should talk to your doctor. There are always side effects that can happen but each person reacts differently. Talk to you doctor, if you are embarrassed and too young and don't want your parents to know you can go to planned parenthood they will educate you and can help you choose the right one for you!
I am in the Medical Field and work for an OB/GYN

You can take them from the time you start your period

Depending on the BC you will either regulate your periods or make them less and lite ( 4 per year)

They also help with a woman who has conditions such as

Endometrosis, Fibriods, PCOS, PMDD ( worse than PMS)

and obviously it keeps you from getting pregnant

they should NOT be used just to clear your face
birth control im not sure if it has any age but the effects are abnormal periods

meaning u could get ur period like two weeks later after u have finished the one you have gotten

it all depends on the side effects on the pill
