The packet of instructions DOES say 7 days, as does every other birth control, but in all seriousness, you're going to want to wait a full 30 days taking it on time before you have unprotected sex.
Many women have gotten pregnant by using that 7 day rule. Be patient. I'm on Loestrin 24 Fe too and I waited a full month before unprotected.
it takes a couple of months for your period to get regular.
