Does anyone know how much it costs to replace a gearbox control unit on a Mercedes A Class?

We may be buying one that is stuck in 2nd gear and have been told that the gearbox control unit is what needs replacing (not the gearbox itself just the control unit).

never buy a Merc unless your annual income exceeds 拢40.000 ,that way you can own and run a Merc in financial comfort, or if you are on a budget i would not even consider paying for sevice costs and parts,you will skint yourself trying.
