First of all, ALWAYS disconnect the battery BEFORE starting any vehicular project that involves electricity of any ammount. Hang the battery cable(s) over the side of the car so that there is no chance of temporary electrical current capability. One cable is usually enough to disconnect. Second, your car should have come with an owners manual that tells you step by step, with pictures, how to repair all or most problems. It will also tell you all the tools you will need. If you do not have the owners manual, one should be easy to come by at your local auto parts store. You won't likely find one specifically for your car alone, but you should find one like I have. My truck is a 1996 Dodge dakota sport. The manual I found is called: All Dodge Dakotas for the years 96-99. Have fun, good luck, and be smart and safe with what you are doing. After all, it is your vehicle! Is it hard to replace cruise control button on my alero?
