01 Ford Explorer Sport; how much does it cost for a idle control valve?

Symtoms such as bogging out when idling, the need to pump gas for it to start, and sometimes wont start at all. People say it may be the Idle Control Valve. How much does this piece cost, and how do I install it? Thank you very much for answering.01 Ford Explorer Sport; how much does it cost for a idle control valve?
To remove and install an IAC valve on a 2001 Explorer Sport, remove the four fasteners that secure the engine dress cover bearing ';4.0L SOHC'; to the plastic intake manifold, using a 7mm or 9/32'; socket and suitable driver or ratchet. Remove dress cover. The IAC valve sits atop the intake being secured by two 10mm bolts and a two-wire electrical connector. Removal and installation of this part should be obvious, once the dress cover is removed. Regarding the cost of the part, it depends on where you buy it. I would strongly recommend replacing it with the proper Ford/Motorcraft part, particularly when it comes to electrical parts. For your information, pumping the accelerator achieves NOTHING other than opening and closing the throttle plate on fuel injected vehicles such as this one. Hope this helps.01 Ford Explorer Sport; how much does it cost for a idle control valve?
Valve should be about $60 $50 labor
The part replaced at a shop would run about 150-200 dollars. I wouldn't just waste money replacing that, that doesn't sound like it's the problem. I would take it to a reputable repair facility and have it diagnosed by a master technician and go from there.
