Is it ok to take birth control pills to shorten my periods?

(not for guys)

Any reason you have chosen birth control is okay as long as it's the right choice for you.

Birth control can indeed help with all kinds of things. It can make a period more reliable, less stress and pain, shorter, and lighter. It can also take the stress out of worrying about pregnancy--which can increase your libido, and can also clear up acne and oily hair.

Whatever reason you choose it for, make sure it's right for you and if you have any complications with it (mood swings, weight gain, or if your periods are what you want them to be) call the doctor. There are hundreds of options out there for us, as women, and we should be properly educated and available to try all of them.

Totally fine. Birth control can be used to control lots of ';female'; issues such as acne, period length, cramping and everything else associated with your period, and of course, getting pregnant. Nothing wrong with you taking it for shorter periods. %26gt;L
That is completely fine. I use birth control so 1. I don't get pregnant and 2. so I don't have a period at all. As long as you pick one that works for you go for it.
