I heard that taking birth control may decrease your chance in having a child when you finally do go off of it.
is there truth to this?
I was trying to concieve with my fiancee, but to no avail.
I used to be on birth control 2 different types of pills and the patch (not at the same time), but no longer take anything at all.
we felt that the birth controls stunted our chances of having more kids seeing as how we have one already and that was before I went on ANY birth controls.
what do you think??Can birth control cause problems when it does come time you decide you want children?
The only problem with trying to conceive after birth control is regular periods. For some people it takes awhile (a ew months) to get their body back on schedule, others get pregnant the same month they stop taking them. Can birth control cause problems when it does come time you decide you want children?
I had heard the same thing. I heard that being on birth control for 5+years decreased your chances of being able to conceive. Well I was on birth control for 7 years straight. My husband and I decided to try to have a baby. We thought for sure it would atleast take a few months, so I stopped taking my pack at the end of Jan/beginning of Feb, had my period, and got pregnant in Feb. I now have a beautiful 3mth little girl. So yes it is possible to get pregnant right after getting off birth control, even after being on birth control for 7 years straight. Just keep trying, sometimes it takes a few months for a womans cycle to regulate. Good luck!
If it gives you hope I conceived not long after stopping the pill. If you are having trouble now and have been trying for over a year then I would talk to a Dr about it.
yes it can hurt your chances. it can even stop you from havin kids all together. but also it can depend on how long you've been on them. it could take up to a year to get pregnant. And some say even if you were on them for acouple of months it can cause you not to have kids, or take a long time to have one. it also breaks your bones done. birth control is not a good thing for us ladys. i looked it up awhile ago, and it does damage. i was on the depo for 5 years. hope that helps, good luck
